FAQs

What should I expect from an officiant /celebrant?

First, you should have a “good” feeling when you speak to a potential celebrant/officiant for your ceremony. Most people have never worked with a celebrant before and never planned a ceremony before. A good celebrant should be able to answer all your questions and put your concerns at ease. The celebrant should also be able to show you that he/she has understood what you have said about what you want. The celebrant should be clear about what he/she can offer you, and how he/she will work together with you, and what the cost will be.

What is the ceremony planning process like?

First, I will listen very closely to the words and the meaning that you express when you describe what you want. I will ask you lots questions and offer a number of ideas of my own, to make sure we are understanding each other. Then, I will put together readings and rituals and will write an initial draft of the ceremony for your review. And we will do as many tweaks, re-writes and edits as necessary until you are completely happy with the result. It's your ceremony, and you will have the final say!

Do you have any suggestions for us prior to us contacting you?

Give some thought to some of the features and flavor of the ceremony you are hoping to have.  I will ask you lots of questions to help us cover all the bases. But please, don't be afraid to ask me anything. Again, most people have never worked with a celebrant before and have never planned a ceremony before. That's why I'm here. I'm here to serve you.
